Many people of Nepal go to big cities of the country including Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Mathura, Ahmedabad for jobs. Travelers book private buses after coming to Palia from Nepal. On Thursday, many travelers from Nepal reached Palia in Lakhimpur and from there booked a private bus to Pune at 9 pm. There were about 80 passengers including women and children in the bus.

the bus driver was drunk

Passengers told that the bus driver and helper had consumed alcohol in Palia itself. The driver was driving the bus at very high speed. The bus did not slow down even on the breaker. When they interrupted, the bus staff became intent on fighting and silenced the passengers. At around ten o’clock in the night, the driver could not control the speeding bus at the intersection of Mailani town, due to which the bus collided with a pickup.
