Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: In protest against the brutal murder of a female trainee doctor after rape in Kolkata, private doctors in Agra have also shut down their hospitals. Along with SN Medical College, all hospitals and clinics as well as pathology labs remained closed.

The movement against the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in Kolkata has gained momentum. Patients were seen troubled due to the strike of private doctors since morning. A human chain was formed on MG Road in front of the Medical College regarding the incident.
The Indian Medical Association held a meeting at its office in Tota Ke Tal on Friday. It was decided by consensus to go on strike for 24 hours on Saturday. Secretary Dr. Pankaj Nagaich said that the strike will be held from 6 am on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday in protest against the rape and murder of a resident in Kolkata. ICU and emergency services will remain operational in the interest of patients. Former President Dr. OP Yadav said that there is a demand for maximum punishment to the culprits, a law on violence against doctors and strengthening of the National Medical Council. During this, Dr. Anupam Gupta, Dr. Anoop Dixit, Dr. Ravindra Mohan Pachauri, Dr. Yogesh Singhal, Dr. Arun Jain, Dr. Seema Singh, Dr. Swati Dwivedi, Dr. Arun Chaturvedi etc. were present.
