Bhagwan Singh, resident of village Aturra Nagla Balram of Gonda block, died after being shot during the car service for Shri Ram temple. That day was 2 November 1990, the family could not even see him for the last time. His 92-year-old mother Sheesh Kaur told that her son Bhagwan Singh was sacrificed in Ayodhya during the Shri Ram Temple movement. Proud of my son’s sacrifice but sad that I could not see him for the last time. Now his dream is being fulfilled after 34 years, at that time he was only 24 years old.
Sheesh Kaur says that her son had surrendered at the feet of Shri Ram. She kept running from door to door to the then authorities to get the body, but the body could not be traced till date. He and his family are very happy on the construction of Shri Ram Temple. Their only demand is that the name of Lord Singh should also be written on the stone plaque on the Shri Ram temple.
The names of all the kar sevaks who lost their lives should be written in it. May he also get the privilege of going to Ayodhya to have darshan of Shri Ram. Bhagwan Singh was the youngest of the three sons of farmer Jawahar Singh. Bhagwan Singh worked as a Sangh pracharak in Sadabad till 1988. Kept working in Sangh branches and camps. Refused to marry and dedicated his life to the country. The mother said that the son blessed Shri Ram by surrendering his life at his feet.
The main road of the village should be named after Lord Singh.
In the family, his brother Nepal Singh, nephew Ashok Kumar and Pawan Kumar told that the family installed the statue of Lord Singh. Which was inaugurated by the then State Public Works Minister Kalraj Mishra on 2 November 1997. But after this no one returned and saw that there is a pile of filth at the memorial site. He said that the road leading from village Murwar to the village on Iglas road should be named after Lord Singh. The dilapidated road should be rebuilt.
