Bharat Ratna Award Latest News: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to confer the country’s highest civilian honor ‘Bharat Ratna’ on veteran Punjab leader Master Tara Singh. Sukhbir Singh Badal sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (February 10). In this he wrote, “Tara Singh’s contribution to our independence and to keeping present day Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Western Punjab in India was unique and decisive.”
He said, “This honor should have been given to him long ago.” Now the time has come that this mistake should be rectified and Masterji should be given the highest honor of the country…” He further told how Master Tara Singh had traveled from the western end of the then united Punjab to Delhi in the days before the partition of the country. This year five people have received Bharat Ratna
