Liquor ban in Bihar made a soldier ‘martyr’. Got it done… That’s why I had to write, because the liquor businessmen had to go to the river to catch them and without any resource-preparation, they were chased away in the dark night of severe cold. A soldier fell alone among the businessmen. He also fought, but then the two together killed the soldier by drowning him in the river. During this, no one could reach for help even after hearing the screams of the rest of the soldiers in the dark. There is tremendous resentment among the soldiers after the dead body of the comrade came out from the river, which can explode anytime. The incident took place in Muzaffarpur. The deceased jawan was 23-year-old Deepak Kumar of Bhagalpur.
There was no preparation, sudden operation citing job
The product department has been stirred by the information of the incident. There is resentment among the soldiers of the team. The family of the deceased jawan has been informed about the incident. Efforts are being made to send the dead body for postmortem. The soldiers involved in the team told that they were going to sleep between 9 to 10 in the night. Had eaten food. Meanwhile, got the message that liquor has to be raided. The jawans said that they have to go to Siwan in the morning. It was said that if you want to save your job then come… otherwise you will be suspended. The soldiers left at 12 in the night. Reached Sanha Bazar of Mushari police station area. Wine was being made in the middle of the river. Separate teams were formed there to catch him. Deepak was accompanied by two other jawans on the boat. Reached across the river. Some liquor mafia were making stolen liquor.
Scramble with two people in water with lamp, took life there
The liquor businessmen had got a clue. Those people started trying to run away. Deepak had caught two businessmen. To escape, both of them jumped into the water carrying the lamp. There was a sound of scuffle from the water, also of asking for help. The other jawan started shouting for help, but it was too late. Deepak had gone into deep water. By the time the second team reached, Deepak had died. The liquor mafia had fled. After this, the struggle continued for hours in the same darkness, then the dead body of Deepak was found. There is anger among the soldiers after the incident. In the matter, Eastern DSP Manoj Pandey said that the incident is being investigated.
