RailTel Got Work Order Of 98.56 Crores From West Bengal Government


West Bengal: RailTel has bagged an order from Bengal for capacity augmentation of West Bengal State Data Center (WB-SDC) at an estimated cost of Rs 98.56 crore. The order has been received through an open competitive bidding process. The work includes supply, installation, commissioning and integration of hyper-converged infrastructure with necessary compatible network, load balancing, software, network security, application performance management and centralized monitoring software.

West Bengal State Data Center (WBSSC) is a vital IT infrastructure of the State of West Bengal, performing as a shared, secure and reliable infrastructure service center for hosting and managing various e-Governance applications.

WTL is a Government of Bengal Enterprise

Some of the key functionalities among its many services are Central Data Repository, Secure Data Store, Online Delivery of Services, Citizen Information/Service Portal, State Intranet Portal, Remote Management and Service Integration. WTL is a Government of West Bengal Enterprise under the supervision of the Department of Information Technology and Electronics, Government of West Bengal and is the State Nodal Agency and State Implementing Agency for implementation of all e-Governance related activities in the State.

RailTel is providing WiFi at railway stations

State Government’s SWAN and SDC infrastructure is led and managed from WTL. An official statement said that bagging this prestigious project from the Government of West Bengal is an endorsement of RailTel’s dominant position in the domestic IT sector by virtue of its strong technology expertise, process excellence and superior execution capabilities.

Once this project is completed, e-governance will give a further boost to West Bengal. He further said, we are committed to provide best services to all our stakeholders. RailTel is also working with Indian Railways to transform railway stations into digital hubs by providing public WiFi at railway stations across the country.
