In which it is clearly stated that a passenger can travel in which coach on the basis of which ticket. And cannot travel in that coach of the train. So what is the penalty on him?
The fine can be so much along with jail
Some rules and regulations have been made by Indian Railways for traveling by train. All passengers have to agree. General, sleeper and AC coaches are installed for the travel of passengers in the train. Passengers can travel in these coaches on the basis of their reservation and their ticket. According to railway rules, one cannot travel in a train engine.

Fine for waiting ticket also
According to the rules of Indian Railways, if a passenger travels in a reserved coach with a waiting ticket. Then TTE can impose a fine of Rs 440 on him. Along with this, TTE also has the right to drop the passenger at the next station midway. Also, if TTE wants, it can send the passenger in general coach. However, if the seat is vacant then a person can be given a seat in the reserve coach after paying a fine.
