Rajya Sabha Election 2024 BJP Samajwadi Party PDA Politics Did Pallavi Patel Spoil Akhilesh Yadav Game

BJP Vs Samajwadi Party: Before the Rajya Sabha elections, there is talk of Samajwadi Party’s PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) card. This issue is in the headlines after the statement of Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) leader and SP MLA Pallavi Patel regarding PDA and a stir is being seen on social media as well. It is even being said that Pallavi Patel can spoil the game of SP in the Rajya Sabha elections.

Actually, Samajwadi Party has fielded three candidates Alok Ranjan, Jaya Bachchan and Ramji Lal Suman as candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections. Apart from Ramjilal Suman, the remaining two candidates do not belong to PDA.

Recently, SP MLA Pallavi Patel had expressed her displeasure regarding these candidates of Samajwadi Party and even said that she will not vote in favor of SP.

What did Pallavi Patel say?

According to news agency PTI, Pallavi Patel, angry with the Samajwadi Party’s decision to make Alok Ranjan and Jaya Bachchan its candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections, said that she will not cast her vote. He had said on Wednesday (February 14), “We are talking about PDA (backward, Dalit and minority). Ranjan and Bachchan are not in PDA. I am not going to cast my vote against this ‘deception’.

How heavy is BJP’s PDA?

It is believed that BJP had adjusted its PDA considering SP’s PDA equation. There was speculation that Kumar Vishwas would get Rajya Sabha ticket from BJP but he was not fielded. There was a risk of BJP’s PDA equation getting spoiled by making Kumar Vishwas the candidate because then there would be two Brahmin candidates. BJP could also have been accused of Brahminism. Four of the BJP candidates come from OBC (Other Backward Class), while not a single one of the SP candidates is from OBC, however, PDA’s D i.e. Dalit face is definitely included in Akhilesh’s list.

What is the equation?

Elections are to be held for 10 Rajya Sabha seats in UP. NDA has fielded eight candidates and SP alliance has fielded three candidates. Thus, 11 candidates are in the fray for 10 seats. This has made the competition exciting. It is believed that BJP does not have enough votes to make the eighth candidate win and additional votes will be needed for the third candidate of SP and if Pallavi Patel does not vote in favor of SP then she needs two more votes. Will be.

In the 403-member assembly of Uttar Pradesh, BJP has 252 members, SP has 108 and Congress has two members. At the same time, BJP’s ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) has 13 members in the House while Nishad Party has six members. There are nine members of RLD, six members of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, two members of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik and one member of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Four seats are vacant. Voting will take place on February 27 and the results will be declared on the same day.
