Ram Gopal Varma recently gave an interview to Galata Plus. The director said in the interview about the failure of Lal Singh Chaddha, ‘Aamir likes Forest Gump. So this (Lal Singh Chaddha) was like a dream project for him. And he was making it in his mind. It could have come out well or not, I don’t know. But what’s the point is that by the time you reach the end, it is ready for an audience who had never seen Forest Gump’.
Ram Gopal Varma further added that, ‘It was originally an Aamir Khan film, so there was no history behind it, so what Aamir took from Forrest Gump as a subject may not have interested the audience, but these are all speculations.’
