There is a festive atmosphere everywhere regarding the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla to be held on January 22 in Ayodhya. Workers of BJP and Hindu organizations are distributing Akshat to people from door to door. Preparations are being made for the grand event at the local level.
In such a situation, the kar sevaks of Bilaspur, who went to Ayodhya for kar seva in 1992, are remembering their struggle. Karsevaks tell that they reached Ayodhya after walking more than 100 kilometers. Now it’s time to celebrate.
In 1992, a group of 12 Karsevaks left for Ayodhya under the leadership of Karseva chief Praveen Shourie, resident of Mohalla Punjabi Colony. Two Kar Sevaks were arrested in Milak, while 10 people dodged the police and hid in Mirpur Kanta village, 50 km from Ayodhya.
Stayed there in a house for 20 days. More than five hundred kar sevaks from different districts stayed in that village. Later, the police arrested him and took him to a long distance and imprisoned him in a temporary jail built in a school. Karsevaks say that after leaving there, they reached Ayodhya after walking about 100 kilometers.
On December 6, 1992, a flood of Ram devotees had gathered in Ayodhya. That day, kar sevaks from all the villages of Bilaspur had reached there and performed kar seva. Karsevaks say that today when the grand Ram temple is ready in Ayodhya and Ram Lalla is going to be consecrated, they are feeling very happy.
Struggled a lot during the Ram Mandir movement. Under my leadership, all the Karsevaks had reached Ayodhya in 1992. Today when Ram Mandir is ready, I am very happy. The program of Ramlala’s life consecration on 22nd January is very important for me. Everyone should celebrate now. I have made a lot of preparations for the day of 22nd January. Along with worship, Bhandara will also be organized. -Praveen Shourie, Karsevak, Mohalla Punjabi Colony, Bilaspur.
I am very excited about the program of consecration of Ram Lalla. Many people of Bilaspur struggled a lot for the Ram temple. Even today, people have not forgotten that the police had lathicharged the devotees of Ram who were carrying out the Ram Jyoti Yatra in the city in 1990. Had the good fortune of going to Ayodhya and serving Karseva. Now I am very happy with the construction of Ram temple. It seems that a big purpose of life will be fulfilled. Diwali will be celebrated on 22 January. -Doctor BK Sharma, Karsevak, Matkheda Road Bilaspur
