According to a report published in DNA, Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’, was paid the highest fee. ‘Ramayana’ was telecast in the year 1987 and even at that time, Rs 40 lakh was paid to Arun as fee. The rest of the characters were paid less than him, although that fee was also very high as per those times.
Starcast got huge amount
After Arun Govil, the actor who was paid the highest amount was Dara Singh. Dara played the role of Lord Hanuman in ‘Ramayana’. He was given a check of Rs 35 lakh for this character. After this, the third expensive actor was Arvind Trivedi, who was paid a fee of Rs 30 lakh for the role of Ravana. Sunil Lahiri, who won hearts by playing Laxman in the show, was given Rs 25 lakh as fee. Whereas Sita, who emerged as Sita in the lead role, was given the least amount i.e. Rs 20 lakh.
