Tension is continuously increasing after the death of a student in firing in Silaibara village in Rampur. On Wednesday, the administration has deployed additional policemen in the village. DM and SP are standing at the spot since morning. There was an argument between the administration and the people regarding registering a case against the Tehsildar and SDM. After this the police had to resort to mild lathicharge.
Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad, who was coming to Rampur to meet the victims, has been placed under house arrest by the police in Sambhal. Workers and people are angry due to this. On the other hand, on the instructions of Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh, SDM Milak Aman Deol has been suspended.
On Tuesday evening, two parties came face to face when the board of Ambedkar Park was installed on government land. When the SDM and Tehsildar reached this information and tried to get the board removed, one party pelted stones at their vehicles. After this, stone pelting and firing started between the two sides. During this time, 17 year old Sumesh died due to bullet injury.
Sumesh had given his 10th class exam in the morning itself. The excitement between the two sides was to such an extent that even after the police arrived, stone pelting and firing continued. Some people also threw stones at the CO’s car, due to which the car was damaged. To control the situation, SP Rajesh Dwivedi reached the spot along with forces from several police stations.
The death of the student increased the anger among the villagers of that side. They started a ruckus alleging death due to police firing. The SP called the allegation baseless, after which people from one side sat on a dharna keeping the body of the student. He started demanding to call the DM to the spot.
The angry people did not calm down after being informed that the DM was out of the district. Seeing the situation, Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh and DIG Muniraj ji from Moradabad reached the spot. Villagers told that Amit and Raman of the village got injured in the firing and stone pelting. He is being given treatment.
Villagers want to install statue of Dr. Ambedkar
Villagers told that about 15 days ago, the administration had removed the encroachment from the land of the village society in Silaibada village. Some people want to install the statue of Dr. Ambedkar on this land. On Tuesday, when the other party protested against putting up a park board there, both the parties clashed.
Case against 25 including six policemen
There was a huge uproar after the death of a student in firing in Silaibara village of Rampur. People staged a dharna throughout the night and raised slogans against the police administration. Considering negligence in the case, a case has been registered against 25 people including four constables, SDM and two associates of Tehsildar on Wednesday. Angry people say that a named FIR should also be registered against the SDM and Tehsildar.
