Farha Naqi (35), a teacher posted in the primary school of Gram Panchayat Lalpur Kalan, committed suicide by jumping into the Bahalla river on Wednesday. She was a resident of Mohalla Azadnagar in Moradabad. The teacher’s husband Suhail Zaidi, who works in a pharmacy company in Ghaziabad, has said that his wife was stressed due to the online attendance system of teachers.
However, Suhail has not given any such written complaint. The incident happened near Nangli village on Wednesday morning. Farah left for school by auto from Moradabad at 7 am on Wednesday. Farah stopped the auto before reaching school at around 7.30 am.
She reached the culvert of Bahalla river near Nangli village on Kanpur-Lalpur road in Tanda police station area. People nearby said that she suddenly jumped into the river from the culvert. Some people present nearby also jumped into the river to save her.
After some effort, Farha was taken out but by then she had stopped breathing. Her husband says that all the teachers are troubled by the online attendance system. They are also opposing it. Farha was also very tense about this. Tanda police says that no complaint has been received in this matter.
