Ranbir Kapoor On Rishi Kapoor Demise: Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passed away in May 2020. Now, four years later, his son and actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that he did not cry at all when his father Rishi Kapoor passed away. Ranbir has also revealed how he feels guilty for not being able to mend his relationship with his father while he was alive.
In a recent interview to Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir Kapoor said, ‘I had stopped crying long ago, when my father passed away, I did not even cry. When I was spending the night in the hospital, the doctor told me that this was his last night, he could leave anytime.’
‘I had a panic attack…’
Ranbir further said- ‘I remember I went into the room and I had a panic attack. I didn’t know how to express myself. There was a lot happening right now that I had to deal with. But I don’t think I have mourned and understood the loss.’
I regret not being able to bridge the gap with my father
The ‘Animal’ actor further said that he also regrets that he could not end his differences with his father Rishi Kapoor. He says- ‘We spent a year together in New York when he was undergoing treatment. He often talked about that. I was there for 45 days and one day he came and started crying. He never showed that kind of weakness in front of me.’

Ranbir further said- ‘It was very strange for me because I didn’t know if I should hold him or hug him. I really felt the distance. I feel guilty that I didn’t have the courage to bridge the distance between us and go and hug him, give him some love.’
Why did Ranbir Kapoor not cry on his father’s death?
Ranbir Kapoor says that people are brought up by telling them that they are responsible. He said- ‘I have a mother, sister, wife, a child and my father has passed away… can I show my weakness? I don’t know what it is, but I did not show it.’
