The Range Rover 3-litre petrol Long Wheel Base Autobiography and 3-litre diesel LWB HSE are now locally manufactured, while the top-end variant with the 4.4-litre V8 is imported. Let’s find out how the prices compare with the flagship BMW and Mercedes-Benz models from the current top luxury carmakers in India. The Mercedes-Benz GLS Maybach is priced at Rs 3.35 crore but comes with a 4.0-litre V8, while in comparison, the Range Rover SV with a V8 engine costs over Rs 4 crore.
If compared to a locally assembled car, the Maybach S580 sedan costs Rs 2.5 crore. For BMW, one of their flagship models includes the performance centric XM, which costs Rs 2.6 crore, while the company’s electric model i7 sedan costs Rs 2 crore. On the other hand, the Range Rover Sport 3.0-litre Dynamic SE petrol and 3.0-litre Dynamic SE diesel are priced at Rs 1.4 crore.

Compared to its closest rivals from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, the recently launched 7-seater GLS petrol comes at a price of Rs 1.3 crore and diesel at Rs 1.37 crore.
BMW’s X7 is also a three-row SUV, priced at Rs 1.22 crore, while the diesel version costs Rs 1.25 crore. Therefore, coming at a more competitive price point, the waiting period for these Land Rover SUVs will also be less, along with expanding the luxury car space.
