Ranjeet on 80’s Party: There is a lot of partying in the film world. You will see this even today and the same thing used to happen decades ago. Veteran actor Ranjit had told about this through a podcast. Although he told about many actors, but there was a superstar who used to drink not just one or two pegs but the whole bottle.

Ranjit is a veteran actor of the film industry who played the role of a villain in many superhit films in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. His acting was different but in real life Ranjit is completely opposite to his films. He told that in the 80’s most of the parties were held at his house in which many veterans used to attend.

How were the parties at Ranjit’s house in the 80’s?

While talking to ANI, Ranjit talked about the parties that used to happen in the 80’s. Ranjit told that his parents used to live in Punjab where his ancestral home is. Ranjit used to live with his wife in Mumbai, so most of the parties used to happen at his house. Ranjit told that there used to be a party in his house every other day or sometimes every day.

Many actors like Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Sunil Dutt, Sanjay Khan, Feroz Khan, Parveen Babi, Zeenat Aman, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor used to attend that party. There used to be a lot of drinks in their party and Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna were the actors who drank the most.

Ranjit further said in the same interview, ‘Everyone else used to drink for enjoyment but Rajesh Khanna could not manage with one or two pegs. He liked to drink the whole bottle. Rajesh Khanna used to dance and talk a lot after drinking, he was a lively person. Apart from Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra also used to drink every day and then the party that was organized is amazing.’

Ranjit’s wife also used to attend his party and all the ladies used to prepare different dishes together, Ranjit also mentioned this in his interview.

Born on 12 September 1941 in Punjab, Ranjit wanted to join the Indian Air Force. But when he pledged during college, he became inclined towards acting. Ranjit’s first film Sawan Bhado was released in 1969 in which he played Rekha’s brother.

But his first film as a villain was Sharmilee which was released in the year 1971. After this, he worked as a villain in most of the films. Ranjit has worked in about 200 films in his career so far and is still seen in some film or the other.
