On Tuesday afternoon, in Sushant Golf City area, a Dalit woman was gang-raped by seven people when she was going alone from her home to get medicine. When she protested, they beat her up and snatched her mobile phone. At night, the woman went to the police station with a complaint. The police registered a case under various sections including gang rape and raided in search of the accused, but they could not be caught.
According to a Dalit woman living in Gosainganj area, she was going alone to the CHC to get medicine in the afternoon. At 12 noon, Anwar, a resident of Katra Baksa, and his six other companions caught her near Khurdahi market. It is alleged that they dragged her to a garden and gang-raped her. They beat her up when she protested. They also took away her mobile phone.

After the incident, the victim somehow reached home and told her family about the incident. At night, the woman along with her family reached Sushant Golf City police station and registered a case against seven people including Anwar. ADCP South Shashank Singh said that Anwar’s house was raided, but he was not caught. The victim is still in shock. We could not talk to her much.
