This earth is made of different types of substances. Here you will find such minerals in large quantities which are valuable as well as rare. Many countries have large reserves of these minerals. Recently, a large reserve of Lithium has been received from Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, things like cash, gold, diamond etc. are also found somewhere. But the world’s rarest mineral (Rarest mineral in the world) is in such a small amount that perhaps it will be kept at the top position in the category of rare.

Kyawthuite is a translucent, red gem stone that exists only one particle in number, reports the Audity Central News website. Its size is so small that you will have to strain your eyes to see it properly. The weight of this mineral is just 0.3 grams. This is the only mineral present, hence it is called the world’s rarest mineral.

This mineral is very small but heavy
The International Mineralogical Association has recognized a total of 6 thousand minerals. Many minerals in it are quite rare but none are as rare as Kyawthuite. It is named after Burmese mineralogist-petrologist and gemologist Dr. Kyaw Thu and was discovered by sapphire hunters in a canal in the Mogok area of Myanmar. In the year 2015, it was recognized by the International Mineralogical Society and considered the rarest mineral. This sample of 1.61 carat has been kept in the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.

Rarest stone sold unknowingly
The chemical formula of Kyawthuite is Bi3+Sb5+O4 which also contains particles of tantalum and bismuth. Bismuth is such a heavy element that the density of this mineral is 8 times more than that of water, for this reason it is a heavy mineral even though it is small. When the ruby collectors got it, they considered it as an ordinary stone and kept it for sale in the ruby land market of Myanmar. Then Dr. Kyo Thu bought this gem and when he researched it, he came to know that it is not an ordinary stone. He bought it in the year 2010. The price of this stone is not known as it is not available for sale.
