23 thousand laborers did the work
Starting from the year 1913, the work of building Rashtrapati Bhavan was completed in 17 years. About 23,000 laborers worked in making it, out of which 6,000 laborers were only stone carvers. Rashtrapati Bhavan was designed by the architect Lutyens. That’s why Delhi is also called Lutyens’ Delhi. It is said that Lutyens’ spectacles were round, so he mostly made circular designs. You will also find circular shapes in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Durbar Hall
Awards from the President such as Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Khel Ratna Award etc. programs are organized in this hall. A 1500 years old Gupta era Lord Buddha statue is installed in this hall. There is also a gate just in front of the Durbar Hall. It is opened only on some special occasions like 26 January or 15 August. In this hall, there are chairs for more than 400 people to sit at a time.
Ashoka Hall
Cultural programs are organized in the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. There are also beautiful wall paintings in this hall, which are made on canvas and have been installed in the ceiling. The painting in its ceiling is a picture of the king of Iran playing hunting. Which was imposed at the behest of Lord Irwin.

There is a seating arrangement for more than 100 people in this hall. The President has dinner in this hall with the delegates from other countries. On both the walls of this hall, there are portrait pictures made on canvas of the former presidents. There are also three types of lights on these pictures which indicate when the plates are to be decorated and when to be folded. One special thing that very few people know is that earlier there were pictures of different types of weapons on the walls of this hall. But, at the behest of former President Pratibha Patil, very beautiful gold studded artworks were made on the walls of the hall. You can also see the Mughal Garden from the window of the banquet hall.
Marble Museum Hall
The gifts received by the President have been decorated in this hall. In this, you will get to see beautiful carpets made of zardozi i.e. gold threads made by Kashmiri weavers. The Marble Museum Hall was opened by former President Pranab Mukherjee in the year 2016 for visiting and viewing.
Thousand-armed statue of Lord Buddha
As soon as you climb the stairs inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan, there is a very attractive white colored idol of Lord Buddha made of Plaster of Paris with 1000 arms. This idol is divided into three parts, in the lower part of which there is a dragon, above it there is Lord Buddha sitting on a lotus flower and then in the third part there are 12 heads of Buddha. There is a huge chakra behind the head, in which 1000 hands are made.

North Drawing Room
There are two rooms on either side of the Ashoka Hall. In the room on the right, the President conducts formal meetings and photographs with his foreign guests. This room is called the North Drawing Room.
