Former state minister Azam Khan, lodged in Sitapur jail, was successful in getting the ticket of Moradabad’s current MP ST Hasan. Ruchiveera, considered close to Azam, will be the SP candidate from here. Whereas the SP leadership did not listen to Azam in Rampur and fielded Mohibullah Nadvi. Nadvi is the Imam of Delhi’s Parliament Street Jama Masjid. He is originally from Rampur.

Even after Nadvi’s ticket is finalized, the infighting within SP in Rampur seems to be increasing. Asim Raja, who had contested the last by-election in Rampur on SP ticket, filed his nomination as an independent candidate on Wednesday. Rampur SP District President Ajay Sagar says that Azam Khan has instructed us to let Asim Raja contest the elections instead of Nadvi. SP’s fielding of Nadvi from Rampur is being considered as a blow for Azam.

Let us tell you here that Azam had offered to contest elections from Rampur to Akhilesh Yadav, but the SP President was not ready for it. After this, Azam announced election boycott there, but the SP leadership did not come under his pressure. Gave my symbol to Mohibullah Nadvi on the last day of nomination. SP District President Ajay Sagar says that State President Naresh Uttam Patel had come to Rampur for Nadvi’s nomination, but he was not even informed about it.

On the other hand, the SP leadership in Moradabad did not consider it appropriate to incur Azam’s displeasure and canceled the ticket of its sitting MP ST Hasan. In her place, the SP leadership issued the symbol to former Bijnor MLA Ruchiveera. The Election Commission has declared Ruchiveera as the authorized candidate of SP.

Shivpal Yadav will go to Sitapur to convince Azam

According to SP sources, soon after Azam Khan boycotted the elections in Rampur, former minister Shivpal Yadav will go to Sitapur jail to convince him.

On the matter, SP Rajya Sabha member Javed Ali Khan said that even during the era of Nawabs, Moradabad was never under Rampur, but now it is.
