Rashes On Kid’s Skin And Face: Many precautions have to be taken while taking care of small children. It is especially important to take special care of the health and skin of newborn babies. One disease that affects the skin of small children is special and its name is Herpes. In this disease, red rashes appear on the face and mouth of children.
This infectious disease spreads to small children through their mothers. In this, the child’s mouth gets filled with red rashes overnight and sometimes these rashes also affect other parts of the body. Small children are unable to face any situation and in such a situation, parents get scared. Let us tell you that instead of getting worried, it is not very difficult to treat this problem of your child.
What is herpes infection?
Ghaziabad’s senior pediatrician Dr Ashish Praka says that herpes is actually a skin condition that occurs due to infection. A virus called Herpes Simplex (HSV) attacks the skin and red rashes appear on the skin, especially on the mouth. Children get this disease from their mothers because small children spend most of the day in their mother’s lap.
According to Dr. Prakash, when a child gets infected with herpes, red blisters like rashes appear on their face which are filled with water. After filling with water, these blisters burst and fluid comes out from them and causes itching and burning. Since the immunity of the child is weak, he may even get fever in this condition.
How many types of herpes virus are there
There are two types of the herpes virus. HSV-1 (oral herpes) and HSV-2 (genital herpes). Herpes is a general term. The HSV-1 strain of the virus causes incredibly painful sores and lesions around the mouth, including the roof of the mouth, lips, gums, tongue and roof of the mouth. While oral herpes most commonly occurs in children, it can affect people of any age group.
How to treat herpes
If we see, this infection occurs on a large scale in small children. Therefore, instead of getting worried, we should focus on their treatment. If the child is having rashes on his mouth, then it is advised to give him acyclovir as an antiviral drug for three weeks. On the other hand, if newborn babies have herpes, then they are given acyclovir intravenously for two weeks. If there is an infection in the eyes due to herpes, then it is advised to put drops of trifluridine, iododeoxyuridine or vidarabine in the eyes.
