Mallikarjun Kharge on Parliament Remarks Expunged Row: Congress National President Mallikarjuna attacked the BJP-led central government on Saturday (February 11) while launching the party’s ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ campaign from Sahebganj in Jharkhand.
He also targeted the Modi government over the parts of his speech removed from the proceedings of Parliament and insisted that where is the freedom of speech? Kharge said that there is no freedom of speech outside or even inside the Parliament. If someone speaks, writes or shows the truth, he is sent to jail.
What did Mallikarjun Kharge say?
Addressing the public meeting, the Congress President targeted the BJP over the alleged links between PM Modi and businessmen. In a part of his speech, Kharge said, “BJP always lies, they are the leaders of liars.” These facts are speaking, I am not speaking. I am not speaking here, I also spoke in the Parliament. When I speak, whatever our aim is to say about the poor, be it about the country, when we say it, we take out our whole words. Whole of the whole. I didn’t say anything.
‘Where is the Freedom of Speech?’
Kharge further said, “I said, Modi saab, you are a silent baba, then immediately the chairman pulled him out, oh silent baba, he spoke first in the Parliament. Vajpayee ji told our Narasimha Rao ji. These BJP people said to Manmohan Singh ji, Mouni Baba. If I say Mouni Baba in Rajya Sabha, he is thrown out. So where is.. where is the freedom of speech? Hey, not even in the Parliament, not even outside the Parliament, if someone speaks the truth, someone writes the truth, someone shows the truth, then these people send him to jail. Should there be such a government?” Kharge also surrounded the Modi government on issues like inflation and unemployment.
What is controversy?
Let us tell you that recently former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and current party president Mallikarjun Kharge surrounded the BJP in Parliament on the Adani issue, after which there was an uproar. Some portions of the speech of Rahul Gandhi and Kharge were removed from the proceedings of the Parliament after the permission of the Speaker. At the same time, some parts of TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s speech were also not kept on record. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urging him to re-incorporate the deleted portions into the record.
