In the year 1994, Renuka got popularity from the film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’. But the actress never got peace in her personal life. After her divorce from Marathi playwright Vijay Kenkar, she fell in love with actor Ashutosh Rana. In an interview, Ashutosh Rana said, “After the first meeting, I had decided that I would force Renuka to say I love you.”
Narrating an anecdote, he said, “When Renuka was shooting in Goa, I recited a poem to her over the phone. In this poem, I had written confession, denial, silence, emptiness and downcast eyes… everything. After listening to this poem, Later, Renuka had told me I love you. I was overjoyed to hear this.”
