This practice is starting again after a gap of 40 years.
After hoisting the national flag, along with the national anthem, a 21-gun salute will be given from the indigenous gun system ‘105-mm Indian Field Gun’. After this the parade will start with President Murmu taking the salute.
The Republic Day parade will start at 10.30 am and will last for about 90 minutes. Tableaux of various states and union territories will be shown in a 90-minute parade on Friday on the duty path. There will be 16 tableaux of states and union territories in the parade. There will be 9 tableaux of ministries/departments.

The states and union territories whose tableaux will participate in the parade include Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. .
Apart from this, home-made weapons and other military equipment like missiles, drone jammers, surveillance systems, vehicle-mounted mortars and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles will be displayed in the parade. For the first time, women contingents from all three services will participate in this biggest event of the country. More than 70,000 security personnel deployed in the national capital

Officials said that out of these more than 70,000 security personnel, 14,000 will be deployed in and around the duty path to protect the Republic Day parade.

Highlighting the important roles of women in socio-economic activities, the tableau of Manipur will show women working with the delicate fibers of lotus stem and spinning thread using the traditional ‘charkha’. Apart from showcasing critical systems and technologies, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is set to highlight the significant contributions of its women scientists in key areas.
