Republic Day Parade 2024: All states and union territories will get equal opportunity to display tableaux in the next three Republic Day celebrations on the duty path under an MoU. An official source gave this information on Wednesday (January 10). This decision has been taken after consultation between the states and the Defense Ministry.

According to news agency PTI, this step has been taken at a time when many opposition ruled states including Punjab and Karnataka had criticized the Center over the selection process after the rejection of their tableaus.

Sources said the consultation process for selecting the tableau began with a meeting of Defense Secretary Giridhar Aramane with senior officials of states and union territories on May 25 last year and was followed by a three-year plan.

Selection of 16 states and union territories
After four rounds of meetings, he said an expert committee selected 16 states and union territories for the tableau display at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 like every year.

The states and union territories selected for this year’s celebration include Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. Are.

Karnataka-Punjab had criticized
It is noteworthy that recently Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Punjab CM Bhagwant Maan Had criticized the selection process for Tableau. On this, Defense Ministry sources said that the tableau was selected in a completely transparent and consultation manner.

The ministry said that the themes of ‘Developed India’ and ‘India – Mother of Democracy’ as well as guidelines for the selection of tableau for the parade had already been informed to the states. He said that as per the memorandum, every state and union territory Republic Day Only a three-year schedule was finalized to provide an opportunity for the tableaux to be shown one by one in the parade.

A source said that the tableaux of opposition ruled states Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Meghalaya have been selected by the expert committee for this year’s parade. Sources said that till now 28 states including Karnataka have signed the MoU.

He said that states like Uttarakhand and Goa have not been selected for the tableau. Sources said that as per the MoU, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Assam and Uttarakhand will participate in the Bharat Parv at the Red Fort.
