Republic Day will be celebrated as National Unity Day on 26 January in Aligarh district. Along with Prabhat Pheri, there will be various cultural programs imbued with patriotism. Cross country race will also be organized. The flag hoisting will take place from 8.30 am.
DM Indra Vikram Singh said that patriotic songs will be broadcast in the entire city from 5 am. A Prabhat Pheri will be taken out at 6.30 am. Cross country race will be organized from District Magistrate residence to Sports Stadium Ramghat Road from 7 am. Flag hoisting, national anthem and resolution programs will be organized at all educational institutions and government and non-government buildings.
National festival programs will be organized in the district jail at 11 am. There will be a seminar and honoring of freedom fighters along with organization of cultural programs by school children at Seva Bhawan at 12 noon. A march past program will be organized at 2 pm which will conclude at Naurangilal College from Naurangilal Inter College via Rasalganj Barhadwari, Pathar Bazar, Mamubhanja, Gandhipark and GT Road. On January 26, all government buildings have been illuminated with electric lights.
