Supreme Court On NEET UG 2024: The Supreme Court has given a big decision in the NEET UG 2024 case and said that there will be no re-test and neither the exam will be cancelled. After hearing the entire matter, the court said that it is clear that the paper has not been leaked on a mass level. It is not right to conduct the exam again for 24 lakh children in view of the disturbances that happened for some students or at some centers.
The issue of two answers to one question was also resolved
With this, the issue of a big question raised in yesterday’s hearing has also been resolved. Let us tell you that yesterday a question was raised on a Physics question. It was said that there were two correct answers to a question and due to that many candidates got grace marks.
Here also the problem was that looking at the old NCERT books, option number two was correct and looking at the new books, option number four was correct. Therefore, grace marks were also given to those who chose option two. On this, the court had said yesterday that there cannot be two answers to a question.
one answer is correct
Yesterday, a team of three professors from IIT Delhi was formed to resolve the issue of this question and was asked to give the answer today. This panel proved with logic that there is only one correct answer to this question and that is option number four. This was the option released by NTA while releasing the answer key. Thus, the thing of two answers to one question was proved completely wrong and the grace marks that the candidates got on the basis of this question will now be returned.
The rank will change again
Let us tell you that 44 candidates got a place in the toppers list due to getting grace marks in this Physics question. Now that it is clear that only one answer is correct, these grace marks will be taken back and these 44 names will be reduced from the number of toppers. The rank list or merit list will be prepared again. In this way, now there will be a difference in the toppers list for the second time. A total of 1563 candidates were given grace marks earlier and a re-test was conducted for them. Out of these, only 813 appeared for the exam and the rest removed the grace marks and kept the remaining marks. Due to this, there was a change in the toppers list and now this change will happen again.
Counseling will also be affected
Let us tell you that when the names of 44 candidates are removed from the toppers list, the merit list will change and it will also affect the counseling. Seats are given according to the rank and college is allotted accordingly. Obviously, counseling will also be affected when 44 candidates are out of the toppers list. What next instruction NTA gives in this matter and how the process moves forward will soon be clear. According to the old schedule, counseling is to start from tomorrow i.e. 24th July.
