Retired bank manager Veer Singh (65), resident of Mansarovar Colony in Majhola area of Moradabad, was strangled to death. The killers dumped the body on the side of Chandausi Road near Gagan Tiraha in Mainather area. Police and forensic team reached the spot late Friday night after getting information and investigated. His bike was found parked at a short distance. The postmortem report also confirmed that the murder was committed by strangulation. However, the reason for the murder could not be ascertained.
Veer Singh, originally a resident of Bagdpur in Amroha, lived with his family in Mansarovar Colony Krishna Nagar. His family includes his wife, a daughter Mansi and a son Harshit. Veer Singh retired from the post of Senior Manager from Prathama UP Gramin Bank five years ago. His son and daughter are married. His daughter Mansi is an advocate and lives in Noida, while his son is employed in a private company.
The family members told the police that Veer Singh left the house on his bike after receiving a call from someone at around 8 pm on Friday night. He did not return home after that. Late on Friday night, the police of Mainather police station received information that a dead body was lying near the MH factory at Gagan Tiraha on Chandausi Road.
Police reached the spot and took the body into custody. The deceased was identified as Veer Singh. On receiving this information, family and relatives also reached the spot. SP Rural Sandeep Kumar Meena said that the post-mortem has confirmed that the murder was committed by strangulation. Three teams have been deployed to solve the murder case. Footage of nearby CCTV cameras is being examined. The incident will be revealed soon.
