REVIEW: The real face of the filth of sports administration in ‘Inside Edge Season 3’

Web Series ‘Inside Edge Season 3’ Review: Be a content creator, TV or newspaper-magazine editor or content manager of a web site; Everyone understands one thing very well. Cinema, crime and cricket, these are the three subjects on which anything is written, everyone reads it with great interest. Sometimes, to increase the circulation or to increase the visits to the web site, people’s attention can be attracted by their concocted stories. If a producer-director makes something that has cinema, crime and cricket i.e. “three in one”, then it is bound to be a hit. ‘Inside Edge Season 3’ was recently released on Amazon Prime Video. Like the previous two seasons, this too has cricket, cinema and crime. The third season shows the dirt behind sports administration, so research has been done in it and the film presentation is a little less. Lovers of good web series and those who watched the first two seasons will find this season even better.

Looking at Inside Edge, one realizes that cricket, which is not the national game of our country, is still the biggest game in our country because a few decades ago its administration came into the hands of some people who used it as a means to make money. made. Cricket has turned into a business rather than a game. With the advent of T20 cricket tournaments, the duration of each game got shorter and the money got bigger. The main role in Inside Edge is not of any one. All the characters are necessary, important and according to their own ability to increase or decrease the pace of the story.

The main roles in season 3 are played by Bhai Sahib i.e. the chairman of the cricket board, Yashvardhan Patil (Aamir Bashir). Aamir has been working in television and films for a long time but he will benefit a lot from Inside Edge. As a dreaded and ruthless administrator, as a father ashamed to see his daughter open up about his corruption stories. The second important role is of his brother Vikrant Patil aka Vikrant Dhawan i.e. Vivek Oberoi. Vivek did a wonderful job in season 2 as well. As a shrewd and consummate businessman, Vivek is very solid. He was also very effective in the role of a villain in a film named Raktacharitra. His work is excellent in this web series as well. Richa Chadha in the character of Zarina is the pivot which gives rise to conflict, conflict and crime in this entire web series. Seeing Richa Chadha in this character, it is very easy to understand the inclination of cinema like cricket. What a great acting by Richa, wonderful.

Tanuj Virwani as Vayu Raghavan, Sayani Gupta as Rohini Raghavan have been proving themselves time and again since season 1. The character graph of Tanuj Virwani has been created very well. He is a cricketer, girls die for him he takes advantage of, also takes drugs, is a talented cricketer but when he really falls in love, he starts looking at his life correctly. Apart from anger and revenge, he does not like any other emotion and he keeps himself away from any emotional situation. Sayani’s character in the role of his sister has also been created after a lot of research.

Sapna Pabi in the character of Mantra Yashvardhan Patil is beautiful and also talented, just there is a little problem with her dialogue delivery. Renuka Shahane is in a small but important role. The roles of Akshay Oberoi and Siddhant Gupta are small but they have done a great job. The character who has left the most impression in this season is Amit Sial in the character of Devender Mishra. How can a character with Mishra surname be named Devender, this is a matter to be understood. Jatin Gulati in the role of Pritish, Himanshi Chowdhary in the role of Vikrant’s wife Sudha, Manu Rishi in the role of Manohar Lal Handa, Flora Saini in the role of Ayesha have also remained from the first season and despite having a smaller role this time, they will make their presence felt. The story takes a new turn every time.

The creator of Inside Edge is Karan Anshuman, who is a great writer and also a great director. Both his works are enough to get an idea of Karan’s talent. On the one hand, the web series “Mirzapur” based in the typical areas of Uttar Pradesh and on the other hand, “Inside Edge” is being played in the bedrooms of the houses of wealthy people living in Mumbai-Delhi. The result of his thinking is that Inside Edge has got the third season and at the turn where the story is standing, it seems that the fourth season will also come. Along with Karan in the writing team, Neeraj Udhwani, Ananya Modi, Vatsal Neelkantan, Vaibhav Vishal and Nidhi Sharma have made this season very tight. Neeraj Kumar, Delhi Police Officer who later became Joint Director of CBI also cannot live without praising this series because the writing team has done a lot of research.

The manner in which the stories of sports administration and the bribes given to the presidents of different cricket boards to get them to join hands are mentioned in each and every scene, it seems that the writers have worked hard. Neeraj Kumar is that policeman of India because of which all the stories like match-fixing, illegal betting, crime and blackmail of players came to the fore and India went through a huge cricket scandal. As a police officer, he has written books on some of the selected cases handled by him and in that he has revealed many intelligence secrets like Betting Syndicate, Dubai, Nepal, Money Laundering, Hawala and many more. The story of becoming the President of the Cricket Board which is shown in this series seems so authentic that the audience starts hating cricket.

Season 3 of Inside Edge is much more powerful than the first two seasons. Due to good writing and good acting, this season is also being liked, although like the first two seasons, its publicity was reduced. It could also be that Bob Biswas and Suryavanshi were releasing on other OTTs on the same day, so Amazon did not consider it necessary to spend money on it. The cinematographer of the series, Vivek Shah, does a decent job as most of the scenes in the web series are of interactions, and there is little scope to do more than bust shots in an intimate setting. The third season of the web series has also been made better than the first two seasons. A must watch if you can spare 7 hours and 28 minutes. By the way, if you haven’t seen the first two seasons, then don’t watch the third as well because the episodes of the story will not be seen connecting.
