RITES Limited Company has been given the responsibility for the construction of Darbhanga Metro Rail. For this, the government has also paid the first installment of Rs 70 lakh 21 thousand to the company. After the payment of the first installment, Darbhanga Municipal Corporation has called a special meeting on October 29, in which the representatives and engineers of the agency related to the metro construction work along with the Municipal Corporation officials, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, MP, MLA and other public representatives including the Legislative Council were present. Let us tell you that the metro rail line in Darbhanga is to be constructed in four corridors. In this, survey work of two corridors has been completed. The survey work of the first corridor from Darbhanga Airport via VIP road to Laheriasarai via Benta and the second from Bhawanipur Sakri to Darbhanga has been completed. In the Darbhanga to Laheriasarai metro route, the metro rail will pass underground at some places and through bridges at some places. According to the information, the first installment of 10 percent will be given to RITES Limited for payment of consultancy fee and mobilization fee for the comprehensive mobility plan, alternative analysis report and feasibility study of the metro rail project in four cities of Bihar, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Bhagalpur. Approval has been given for withdrawal and payment of Rs 70 lakh 21 thousand including service tax.
For this, a railway agency is investigating the possibilities of running metro in all the identified cities. It is expected that if no hurdles arise, work on the metro train can start from the new year after receiving the feasibility report. According to sources, a special meeting regarding this will be held on 29th October in Darbhanga Municipal Corporation Auditorium.
