The report released by the Delhi government states that more than 50 percent of the total road accident deaths in the year 2022 were of pedestrians. According to the report, a total of 1571 people died in 1517 road accidents in the year 2022, of which 97 percent were pedestrians, motorcyclists, cyclists and auto rickshaw drivers. The report stated that 89% of the people who died in these accidents were men and 11% were women. Of these, the highest number of deaths were of people aged between 30 to 39 years.

Most deaths occurred between 9 pm and 2 am

The report also mentions the timing of road accidents. The report states that the maximum number of people have lost their lives in road accidents between 9 pm and 2 am. This is the time when people drive fast. And the maximum number of hit and run cases are also registered during this time. Let us tell you that 59% of the road accidents that happened in the year 2022 are of hit and run.
