Rose flowers are in great demand not only in India but all over the world. Many things are made from rose flowers. Its cultivation can prove to be very beneficial for the farmers. Let us know how we can cultivate roses. 

What type of soil is suitable?

In view of the global demand for roses, the inclination of farmers towards cultivating roses has increased significantly. Generally, in India, roses are cultivated mostly in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Bengal. The ideal temperature for growing roses is 15 degrees to 28 degrees. The pH value of soil used for roses is considered to be between 6 to 7.5. Sandy loam soil is considered suitable for this.

How to prepare for farming?

Generally farmers are cultivating roses from seeds. So plow the field for that. Sow the middle of roses in the nursery in advance. When they become plants, then take them out of the nursery and immediately plant them in the field. Keep one line of plants at a distance of 5 feet from the other line and plant one plant next to the other at the same distance. Rose plants should be planted in the field between September and October. So they should be pruned between December and January. 

What is the right time for harvesting?

When the petals of rose flowers start turning bright in color, then it is the right time to cut them. In the second year, there is a good yield of flowers in the rose field. After pruning in March, good flowers start appearing. These flowers last for 40 days. After harvesting roses, the flowers should be put in water and kept in cold storage.  Many types of materials made from roses are available in the market. In such a situation, you can find the right buyer and get a good price.
