Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has deferred the decision on issuing summons to former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and other accused in the money laundering case in exchange for land for job. The matter is listed for orders on September 13. On August 6, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary chargesheet against Lalu, Tejashwi and nine others. The sentence of three accused has ended.
Special Judge Vishal Gogane on Saturday posted the matter for hearing next week as he said no further clarification was required from the ED in the case. The ED had filed a final report before the court on August 6. The ED filed its case based on the FIR filed by the CBI.
The ED said the case pertains to Group-D appointments in the Railway’s West Central Zone based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, made when Lalu Prasad was the Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009. In lieu of these appointments, pieces of land were gifted or transferred in the name of the RJD supremo’s family or associates.
