There was a huge uproar during the demolition in Akbarnagar, Lucknow on Sunday evening. People pelted stones at the LDA and police team and chased them out of the streets. Inspector Mahanagar got injured in stone pelting and stampede. However, there were no serious injuries. Three PAC soldiers also got trapped in the streets during the chaos. With difficulty all three could somehow get out on their own. Angry people also vandalized PAC and police vehicles.
On information, Joint Police Commissioner Law and Order, DCP Central, ADCP Central including police administration and LDA officers reached the spot. The ruckus was brought under control after about an hour. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area. Police and PAC forces have been deployed.
A demolition campaign was being conducted by LDA in Akbarnagar on Sunday. Under the campaign, illegal commercial constructions were being demolished. Under this, the team arrived to demolish the commercial building of Samrat Furniturewala. The building collapsed at around five in the evening. Due to the collapse of the building, seven nearby houses also got damaged. People became furious due to this. Started throwing stones at the team. Police and LDA employees including the JCB driver saved their lives by running away from the streets. The crowd pelted stones heavily. Meanwhile, Inspector Mahanagar Akhilesh Mishra got injured in his leg. Although the injury was not serious. On receiving information, police officers arrived with heavy police force. Joint CP Law and Order Upendra Aggarwal made the announcement and explained it to the people. The matter calmed down after about an hour.
Officers’ hands and feet swelled due to PAC soldiers getting trapped
As soon as the uproar started, a stampede broke out. Everyone ran to the main road. After some time it was revealed that three PAC soldiers had remained inside. Due to this, the hands and feet of the police and PAC officers got swollen. Police officers re-entered the street and started planning to evacuate the PAC soldiers. Meanwhile, a heated argument broke out between the LDA officer and ADCP Central. ADCP assured that she will somehow get the soldiers out. Meanwhile, the three soldiers themselves came out from the other side. It was found that some people beat him up. But somehow he escaped.
Stones pelted from rooftops, road covered with bricks and stones
Initially there was stone pelting in the street. When the force came on the road, stones were pelted there also. There was heavy stone pelting from the rooftops. The road leading from Polytechnic towards Badshahnagar (on both sides) was covered with bricks and stones. Earlier the police force was less, hence the crowd was dominating but when the police force arrived within a few minutes, the people were chased away. After which the matter could be calmed down.

The angry mob pelted stones at a PAC vehicle and vandalized it. Broke one or two police bikes. Due to timely arrival of police force, the disturbance was controlled in a short time.
