US Aid to Ukraine: The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine is about to complete for almost a year. On one side there is powerful Russia and on the other hand America is helping weak Ukraine by supplying heavy weapons along with European countries. Meanwhile, the Joe Biden administration of America has announced military assistance of US $ 2.5 billion for Ukraine on Thursday. This includes modern arms and ammunition.
The US said that the military aid given to Ukraine includes armored personnel carriers, air defense systems and more than 10,000 rockets and artillery rounds. The value of all these weapons is around $2.5 billion. This will include 59 Bradley combat vehicles and 90 Stryker armored personnel carriers. Ukraine’s President Zelensky had visited America in the past and met President Joe Biden.
27.4 billion dollars in aid so far
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this is an essential defense aid package to help Ukraine continue to defend itself against Russia’s brutal war. This defense package has brought the total US military aid to Ukraine to about $27.4 billion.
Earlier, Britain said in a joint statement with defense ministers and representatives of nine European countries that it would send 600 Brimstone missiles to Kyiv. At the same time, Denmark will give Ukraine 19 French-made Caesar howitzers and Sweden its Archer artillery system, a modern mobile. Ukraine was in contact with Denmark for several months to get Caesar Howitzer.
“We believe that arming Ukraine to drive Russia out of its territory is just as important as improving the weapons it already has,” the statement said.
