S Jaishankar on India China Relations Border issues Galwan Ladakh LAC Security of Country not be Disrespected

S Jaishankar On China: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday (May 14) described the deployment of forces along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China as unusual and said that the country’s security should not be ignored. Foreign Minister Jaishankar made this comment during a program in Kolkata.

According to Hindustan Times report, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that after the 1962 war, Rajiv Gandhi visited China in 1988, which was an important step towards normalizing relations with China. There was a clear understanding that we would discuss our border differences, but we would maintain peace on the border. He said that our relations will continue in future also.

What did Foreign Minister S Jaishankar say?

Jaishankar said, “What has changed now, happened in the year 2020.” China deployed a large number of security forces on our border in violation of many agreements and they did this at a time when we were under lockdown during the Corona period. However, India retaliated by deploying security forces and now troops have been deployed ahead of the normal base position in Galwan.

Foreign Minister said this on the deployment of troops

According to the Foreign Minister, this is a very unusual deployment of troops on LAC. As an Indian citizen, given the tension between the two countries, none of us should ignore the security of the country, it is a challenge today. He said the resolution of remaining issues with China depends on the return of bilateral relations and peace on the border.
