We have heard people in our family saying that drinking saffron milk during pregnancy makes the baby fair. But according to health experts, there is no truth in drinking saffron milk to make the baby fair. The colour of the baby growing in the womb depends on the looks and genes of the parents and not the colour of the baby is decided by eating saffron.
Whether the baby becomes fair or dark depends on the genes of the parents. In some cultures, saffron is believed to make your baby’s skin fair. However, there is no scientific evidence that eating saffron during pregnancy has any effect on the baby’s complexion.
Doctors believe that eating saffron helps in improving digestion. It can reduce pregnancy related digestive problems like constipation and bloating. Saffron has a positive effect on uterine contractions. It is beneficial during delivery.
