Sajid Khan Death: Actor Sajid Khan, who was a part of films like ‘Mother India’, ‘Maya’ and ‘The Singing Filipina’, has passed away. The actor was battling cancer. At the age of 70, Sajid had said goodbye to the world on 22nd December, but this information has been received today. Sajid Khan was buried at Kayamkulam Town Juma Masjid in Alappuzha district of Kerala. Sajid Khan’s only son Sameer told PTI, ‘He was battling cancer for some time. He died on Friday (22 December).

Sameer told that his father had settled in Kerala with his second wife. He said- ‘My father was adopted by Rajkumar Pitambar Rana and Sunita Pitambar and was raised by film maker Mehboob Khan. He was not active in films for some time and was mostly engaged in social service. He used to come to Kerala often and he liked it here so he got married again and settled here.

Sajid was seen in American TV show
Sajid Khan rose to stardom with his character as a teenage idol in ‘Maya’, where he played the role of a local boy Raj ji. Due to the popularity of the film, a series with the same name was also made and this increased Khan’s fame. He also appeared as a guest in an episode of the American TV show ‘The Big Valley’ and was also seen as a guest judge in the music show ‘It’s Happening’.

The actor became a dacoit in ‘Heat and Dust’
The actor became a famous name in the Philippines and worked with Nora Aunor in films like ‘The Singing Filipina’, ‘My Funny Girl’ and ‘The Prince and I’. Khan also played the role of a dacoit in the Merchant-Ivory production ‘Heat and Dust’.
