Salaam Venky Movie Review: Mother’s affection..Son’s endless pain..Legal screw..Kajol-Vishal’s heart touching performance

Salaam Venky Movie Review: Some films are such that they make us aware of the truth of life. The iconic dialogue of Rajesh Khanna’s film ‘Anand’ ‘Zindagi badi honi chahiye lagi nahi’ is often heard. This line teaches how to enjoy life despite all the difficulties of life. Kajol starrer ‘Salaam Venky’ also teaches something similar. If a mother has to ask for euthanasia for a piece of her liver, then her heart aches just thinking about it. Based on the 2005 novel ‘The Last Hurray’ by Shrikant Murthy, the film ‘Salaam Venky’ is the story of a 24-year-old boy, Venkatesh. Who feels the sound of his death every moment.

Story of ‘Salaam Venky’
Kolavenu Venkatesh alias Venky has a rare disease called DMD i.e. Duchenne muscular dystrophy. A person suffering from this disease cannot live a long life. But Venky’s willpower makes him reach the age of 24. Wants to donate his organs. However, during the last stage of his death, Venky pleads with the court for euthanasia. At first the mother does not accept this desire of Venky, which probably no mother would accept, but then she is defeated in front of the stubbornness of the son. Euthanasia is illegal, a mother’s fight to change the law is the story of this film.

Superb performance by Kajol-Vishal
As far as acting is concerned, Kajol, who has always won the hearts of the audience with her romantic and flirtatious acting, has managed to give her best performance as a mother. Her husband Ajay Devgan has also praised for this film. Kajol has once again touched the heart by portraying the pain of a mother for her son. As far as Vishal Jethwa is concerned, he has given life to the character of Venky. It looks like Vishal is actually Venky. What can be a bigger compliment for an actor than the fact that he gets completely immersed in the character he is playing and sometimes makes you cry and sometimes explains the philosophy of life. In the film, Rajiv Khandelwal is in the role of a doctor, Aahana Kumra has managed to leave her mark as a journalist, Rahul Bose as a lawyer and Prakash Raj as a judge have given excellent performance.

Tremendous direction by Revathi
Now let’s talk about the direction of the film. Revathi, who made a comeback in direction after almost 14 years, has managed to make the audience cry and explain the theme of the film. It is amazing of Revathi’s direction that the actors of the film have kept the audience engaged by giving strong performances. Revathi is known for films of such mood. Your eyes remain moist during the entire film. The music of the film has also become better in Mithun’s composition. There are also some flaws in the film, like unnecessarily stretching some scenes.

conclusion
Overall, ‘Salaam Venky’ is such a story of mother-son pain that forces you to think a little differently. In this film, the dedication and sacrifice of a mother for her child is seen, and it is also seen that many legal issues overshadow the reality of your life. Along with this, there are some such scenes in this film, after watching which it is learned that there is a life of 4 days, live it to the fullest.
