But there is a place in Banka city where, even in this era of inflation, one can eat samosa and jalebi at cheap rates. Here you will still get to eat samosa for Rs 4 and jalebi for Rs 3. Not only this, apart from samosas and jalebi, many varieties of sweets are available for the taste lovers. This shop has been operating for the last 25 years. The sales are also tremendous and yet the prices are low. You will not get such taste even in samosas which are available for Rs 10 in other shops of the city. To eat this special samosa, you will have to come near Vijayanagar Chowk of Banka city. This shop was started by Mahendra Sah. That’s why the shop is running in his name.

Shop operator Amit Kumar says that this shop has been running the same way for the last 25 years. Our aim is to provide service rather than earning high profits. There is satisfaction that the needs of the family are met by selling samosas and jalebis even at low prices. Father earlier used to work in Dumka. After this he decided to come to Banka and open his own samosa shop. 25 years ago, father Mahendra Sah had started the business with his grandfather and with the earnings from this shop, he educated all four brothers and made them qualified so that they could handle the business well. He told that at that time people were fed samosa for 50 paise. Now four brothers are running this shop together.

Recipe to make Samosas
Amit Kumar explains that the way to prepare samosa is to mix flour with oil, salt, mangrela etc. and first knead it with hands. After this, masala is prepared by mixing potatoes, cumin, goli, coriander, garam masala, almonds, coriander leaves etc. After this, hot samosas are fried in a pan and served to the people. At the same time, special chutney is also made from the mixture of mustard, garlic, chilli and ginger. Amit Kumar tells that this shop runs from 9 am to 8 pm. During this period, 1000 pieces of samosa and more than 700 pieces of jalebi are sold. At the same time, more than Rs 4 thousand is earned daily.
