Illegal Sand Mining Case: Lok Sabha Elections Before this, Lalu Prasad Yadav got a big blow in Bihar when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the premises of his close RJD leader Subhash Yadav on Saturday (09 March). At present, Subhash Yadav has been sent to judicial custody till March 22. ED had arrested accused Subhash Yadav under PMLA.
About Rs 2.30 crore in cash and important documents related to the case were recovered from 6 locations of Subhash Yadav in Patna. On March 9, ED had raided the premises of Subhash Yadav and his close associates in a money laundering case related to illegal sand mining. ED took this action on the basis of 20 FIRs already registered in Bihar Police against M/s Broadsons Commodities Private Limited i.e. BCPL and its directors.
What did ED find in the investigation?
Investigation revealed that the directors of the company were engaged in illegal mining and sale of sand without e-invoice. There was a profit of about Rs 161 crore from this illegal mining. Investigation revealed that the syndicate involved in this illegal mining which is earning profits through illegal mining by investing in this company is nothing but POC.
Subhash Yadav, besides being a key member of the syndicate, is also a former director of M/s Broad Sun Commodities Private Limited, which was involved in illegal sand mining and sale of sand. The investigation has also revealed that Subhash Yadav has made huge profits from crime and has hidden it by acquiring various immovable properties in the name of his companies.
During the search operation on 09.03.24 unexplained cash of approximately Rs 2.37 crores was recovered and digital devices including pendrives, mobile phones and laptops containing incriminating data were found and seized from the premises of an employee and close associates of Subhash Yadav. On the basis of material collected and his role in the offense of money laundering, Subhash Yadav was arrested on 09.03.24 and produced before the Special PMLA Court on 10.03.2024, where he will be given judicial custody till 22.03.2024. Has been sent into custody.
ED has conducted search operation thrice
Earlier, ED has conducted search operation thrice in this case and has arrested a total of 5 people including M/s BSPL Director and Syndicate Member Radha Charan Sah, (MLC, Bihar) and his son Kanhaiya Kumar.
