First look release of ‘Hiramandi’
Thursday i.e. today the artists and producers released the first look of ‘Hiramandi’. It is as grand, flashy and dramatic as expected from Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for films like Devdas, Bajirao Mastani and many more. With ‘Hiramandi’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has narrated the stories of love and betrayal in the lives of prostitutes in pre-independence India with flavour. ,The first glimpse of ‘Hiramandi’ has shown that even tawaifs once lived like queens. Along with this, the first look has also given us a glimpse of the grandeur of the gatherings of these courtesans.
In the beginning of the video, Manisha Koirala is seen with a strange smile. After this Aditi Rao’s royal look is visible. Sonakshi Sinha is seen with lots of angry expressions on her face., The first glimpse of the story of the courtesans of ‘Hiramandi’ market creates a shiver. The series depicts the cultural reality of a district, Heeramandi, through the stories of prostitutes and their patrons, set against the tumultuous backdrop of the Indian independence struggle of the 1940s. Sharing the first look on Instagram, Netflix India captioned it, “Here’s the first look of legendary Indian producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first series Heeramandi: The Diamond!”
What did Sanjay Leela Bhansali say about ‘Hiramandi’?
In an interview with ANI last year, series creator Sanjay Leela Bhansali had said, “Hiramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. It is an epic, first-of-its-kind series that tells the story of the prostitutes of Lahore. It’s an ambitious, grand series, so I’m nervous but excited to make it. I’m excited about our partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences around the world.”
‘Hiramandi’ star cast
The series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Sehgal and Sanjeeda Sheikh in lead roles. The official streaming date of the show has not been announced yet. However, this series is expected to come on Netflix in 2024.
