Aam Aadmi Party has decided to send Sanjay Singh, who is jailed in the liquor scam, to Rajya Sabha again. The controversy has increased as soon as Sanjay Singh’s name comes up. BJP has alleged that by deciding to send Sanjay Singh to Rajya Sabha again, Arvind Kejriwal has made it clear that his politics is moving forward only on the basis of corruption. With this, the reality of his claim of honest politics has also come to light. Sanjay Singh is currently in jail in a money laundering case related to the liquor scam. This month, all three Rajya Sabha seats of Delhi are becoming vacant, elections for which will be held on January 19.
Sanjay Singh had emerged as a very trusted companion of Arvind Kejriwal. He was strongly raising the voice of the party in Rajya Sabha. He was also given the responsibility of strengthening the party in Uttar Pradesh. He was also actively active in the party’s election campaign in other states. But currently he is in jail in the liquor scam, due to which speculations about his politics had started. But today by deciding to send him to Rajya Sabha again, Kejriwal has made it clear that he will stand firmly with his colleagues. However, BJP will definitely make it a big issue. In such a situation, what will be the political impact of Kejriwal’s decision remains to be seen.
Along with Sanjay Singh, it has been decided to send Delhi Women Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal to Rajya Sabha for the first time. This is being seen as strengthening the role of women in the party. Kejriwal was being accused of not giving adequate participation to women in the party or the government. There was no woman minister in Delhi for a long time. But in the changed equations, Arvind Kejriwal not only promoted Atishi Marlena, but now she has emerged as the strongest leader after Kejriwal. Apart from this, Kejriwal has also tried to strengthen the role of women within the party by promoting Shaili Oberoi in Delhi Municipal Corporation. Aam Aadmi Party has agreed to give second chance to ND Gupta for the third Rajya Sabha seat of Delhi.
