Sankatmochan Sangeet Samaroh will start from April 27 and will continue till May 2. This time instead of seven days, 150 artists will be present in Hanumat Darbar in the festival which will last for six days. Before this, there will be special adornment on Hanuman Jayanti on Tuesday. Sankirtan of Ramnaam will be performed. This is the 101st year of the Sankatmochan Sangeet Samaroh.
Mahant of Sankatmochan Temple Prof. Vishwambharnath Mishra spoke to journalists at his residence at Tulsi Ghat on Sunday and gave information about the music festival. Mahant Prof. Mishra said that this time young artists have been given preference in the music festival. 12 Padma award winning artists will also participate. Renowned singer Kavita Krishnamurthy will praise Bajrangbali. Pandit Sajan Mishra will offer his prayers at the feet of Hanumanji. This will be the first time when people will get to hear Dhrupad singing.
13 artists will attend for the first time
There are 13 artists from different genres of music who will be present for the first time at the Sankatmochan Sangeet Samaroh. These include Avantika Maharaj and Dr. K Shashi Kumar of Varanasi, Nandini Narendra Bedekar, Pandit Saunak Abhisheki and Abhed Abhisheki of Mumbai, Meenakshi Majumdar, Pandit Surranjan Mukherjee and Madhumita Rai of Kolkata, Vijay Chandra and Rishi-Varun Mishra of Prayagraj, Beena of Ahmedabad. Nehul Mehta and Bhavana Ramanna of Bengaluru. Apart from this, all the others have attended Sankatmochan Sangeet Samaroh more than once.
