1 kilo of rice, 4800 liters of water is used in production

How much water is needed for Satha Paddy and what would be the condition of that land? This can be gauged from the fact that the Rampur district administration, citing a study report, has written that about 4800 liters of water is consumed in the cultivation of one kg of rice of Satha paddy in Terai region. It is clear that the way this rice is drinking water. Due to this, the crisis of drying up of the land has deepened in the surrounding areas as well. In view of this, the district administration has appealed to the farmers to grow pulses, oilseeds and other vegetables that require less water.

Rampur had gone into the dark zone

Rampur had gone into the dark zone. The dark zone means that the fixed standards have been set regarding ground water. Due to this, a very fast decline in ground water is recorded. The district administration launched a water save campaign to bring Rampur out of the dark zone. Appealed to people not to use water unnecessarily. Farmers were also asked to focus on other crops for irrigation. As a result, Rampur came out of the dark zone.
