Expansion

After the release of the first list of BJP candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, brainstorming has started regarding seat distribution among the allies. After the release of the list, SubhaSP President Om Prakash Rajbhar met Amit Shah in Delhi on Saturday night itself and discussed the seats. Whereas Nishad Party President Sanjay Nishad has already met and discussed the issue of seats. However, the matter is still stuck regarding the number of seats. Both the parties want at least two seats each in UP, but at present both the parties have been offered only one seat by the BJP.

In fact, in the first list of BJP, candidates have been declared on many such seats including Salempur, Kushinagar, Chandauli, Lalganj, Dumariyaganj, Jaunpur, on which SubhaSP and Nishad Party had already laid claim. SubhaSP President Rajbhar had laid claim on Mau’s Ghosi, Deoria’s Salempur, Ballia, besides Chandauli seat. Whereas Nishad Party President Dr. Sanjay Nishad is also demanding any two seats from Bhadohi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh and Sultanpur. But in the very first list of BJP, candidates have fielded candidates on many seats claimed by both the parties. In such a situation, now Rajbhar and Nishad want that they should get only those seats which are left in their claim. On the other hand, there are many such seats including Ghazipur, Sultanpur, Ballia, on which many BJP leaders who are preparing to contest the elections are keeping an eye on them. In view of this, both the leaders have met Home Minister Amit Shah separately and requested him to clarify the situation on their quota seats also.

Offer to give one seat each to both the parties

According to sources, BJP has currently offered only one seat each to both the leaders, but both the leaders want to get at least two seats. Sources say that at present it has been said to give only Ghosi seat of Mau to Subhashpa, but Rajbhar is not ready for it. Apart from Ghosi, he has also asked for a seat from Ballia or Ghazipur. Whereas BJP has offered Rajbhar one seat in UP and one seat in Bihar.

Ghazipur in UP is a seat on which SubhaSP and Nishad Party have claims. SubhaSP’s claim on this is being considered stronger. Whereas the most favorite seat of Nishad Party is Bhadohi. According to sources, even during the meeting with Shah, Rajbhar had talked about giving Ghazipur seat, but this demand has been postponed. On the other hand, sources also say that Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha is also adamant for Ghazipur seat. After Rajbhar, Sinha also met Amit Shah late in the night and expressed his views. It is being said that BJP can field Sinha’s son Anubhav Sinha from Ghazipur seat.

Subhashpa President Om Prakash Rajbhar said, he met Amit Shah at 9 pm on Saturday night and discussed about giving seats. It is not yet decided which seats will be available. Still we have kept our point. Shah has said that the decision will be taken soon.
