Schools are closing in North India due to this reason, know what is the reason and when is it expected to open


Many states of North India are currently suffering from severe cold and dense fog. There has been a huge drop in temperature due to cold wave in Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and other areas, due to which it has been decided to extend the school holidays.

The schools which were ordered to open from January 6, now the holidays have been extended. Schools are already closed in Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. In Ghaziabad too, schools up to class 8 have been closed in view of the severe cold, whereas holiday orders have been issued in many other big districts including Lucknow.

School holidays extended in many districts of Bihar 

In Bihar, Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh has ordered holiday in all government and private schools of the district, including pre-schools and Anganwadis, till January 11 for classes 8th. There has been a change in the timings of classes 9th to 12th. Now the timing of these classes will be from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Apart from Patna, schools in many districts of Bihar like Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Siwan, Munger, Bettiah etc. will also remain closed till January 11.

Schools closed due to cold in most districts of UP 

The effect of cold wave has started becoming visible in Uttar Pradesh also. School holidays have been extended in major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida, Agra, Mathura, Varanasi. The Meteorological Department has predicted further increase in cold in the coming days, due to which the state government has decided to keep the schools closed. The situation in Uttar Pradesh is such that due to cold wave and dense fog, visibility reduces even during the day, making traveling risky.

Due to cold, schools closed in Rajasthan too 

The effect of cold is increasing in Rajasthan also. Due to extreme cold and cold wave in Bharatpur district, school holidays have been extended till January 9. These holidays have been implemented for children from classes 1 to 8, although there is no leave order for teachers. District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav has issued this order. Along with this, January 7 has also been declared a local holiday in Ajmer due to the Urs fair.
