Cold has left people shivering in Varanasi. The cold is affecting not only trains and planes but also educational institutions. Due to fog and cold wave, all schools up to class eight will remain closed on January 24. District Basic Education Officer Dr. Arvind Pathak said that District Magistrate S Rajalingam has given instructions to close the schools on Wednesday.

The holiday order will be strictly followed in all the schools of UP Board, CBSE, ICSE Board.

Along with this, Kashi MP Knowledge Competition has also been postponed due to cold. Now on the instructions of the District Magistrate, this competition will be organized on 29th January.

Let us tell you that instructions were given on Monday to change the timing of operation of schools up to class eight in Varanasi district. Due to cold, the timing was fixed from 10 am to 3 pm, but on Tuesday, the attendance of children in schools remained low due to dense fog and severe cold.

District Basic Education Officer Dr. Arvind Kumar Pathak said that schools up to class eight will remain closed on Wednesday.

Let us tell you that earlier in view of the cold wave and severe cold, the administration had declared winter vacation for the schools till January 22.
