Scientist claims, like in science fiction movie, travel can be faster than light in real life!

Can you move from one place to another faster than the speed of light? When asked this, you might say that this is a matter of science fiction! But according to new research, what used to be thought limited to science fantasy, or sci-fi movies, is actually possible. Yes, just as in movies like Star Trek, humans can move from one place to another just by manipulating space, in reality one can move from one place to another at a speed faster than light.

According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, it is not possible to travel faster than the speed of light in the real world. For this reason, warp drives, which power spacecraft in Star Wars and other science fiction films, have always remained in the realm of imagination until now. But now scientists have taken an important step towards turning the science fiction of warp drive technology into a reality.

New research published in the Journal of Classical and Quantum Gravity, led by Dr. Jared Fuchs of Applied Physics, provides a new solution to the challenge of realizing warp drive technology. In traditional science fiction, warp drive distorts spacetime in a very specific way. Due to which, instead of reaching from one place to another by vehicle, a distant place is brought closer by distorting the space so that a person can reach there immediately.

In theory, this technology would allow vehicles to effectively travel faster than light without the need to exceed local speed limits. Applied physics researchers have identified a new way in which warp technology may one day become possible. The team introduced the concept of “constant-velocity subluminal warp drive” in line with the principles of relativity.

The new model uses a combination of traditional and innovative gravity techniques to create a warp bubble that can move objects at extremely high speeds, within the limits of known physics. This research has the potential to open many possibilities simultaneously.
