In Srinagar, security forces are conducting a large-scale operation in the upper areas of Jabarwan hills adjacent to the eastern border of the city, where at least three terrorists are believed to be trapped.

The firing lasted for 45 minutes

Senior security officials have said that they have confirmed the sighting of at least three armed men in Ishbar village of Nishat area of ​​Srinagar. Security forces said that there was heavy firing and explosions in the area at around 9 am, which lasted for about 45 minutes. But there is no news of any casualty yet. However, two local people who were trekking in the area were rescued by the police.

In another encounter on Sunday morning in Chas area of ​​Kishtwar district, four Indian Army Special Forces soldiers were injured and admitted to the hospital. The condition of at least three soldiers is said to be critical. Earlier, Kishtwar Police had confirmed the encounter and said that a group of 3-4 terrorists were trapped in the area and this group was responsible for the killing of two security guards of the village on Friday.

Third encounter in North Kashmir in last 3 days

A massive search operation is being conducted in Rampura area of ​​Sopore to nab at least two terrorists, who managed to escape by dodging the security forces on Saturday night. So far, one unidentified terrorist has been killed in the operation and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered. This is the third encounter in North Kashmir in the last three days. On Friday, one terrorist was killed in an encounter in Bandipora, while two Pakistani terrorists were killed in Sagipora area of ​​Sopore.
